The Albertville varsity girls recorded a 52-34 victory over Madison County Tuesday night at Albertville Coliseum.

Erin Sloan tossed in 12 points, leading the Lady Aggies’ attack.

Both Lashaunda Spurgeon and McKenzie Peet scored nine.

Lauren Sprouse and Mallory Peel netted five each, both Chelsea Jenkins and Katelyn Baugh four and Tiffany Pams and Amber Barhorst two each.

The Lady Aggies converted seven of 11 free throws. Madison County was 3-of-13 from the line.

“The scoring was pretty spread out for both sides. We were real excited to have everyone score on our team,” said AHS head coach Kortney Johnson.

“Erin played great defense, leading the team with five steals.

“Spurgeon led the team in rebounds with nine, followed by Jenkins with five.

“I was proud of the win but disappointed in our turnovers.

“We walked (traveled) several times in the fastbreak just lacking control. Nineteen turnovers are more than we would like to see at the end of the game.

“We plan on working on that going into Friday. Guntersville always has scrappy man defense with lots of pressure full court.”

The Lady Aggies will play host to their archrival Friday night
